January 16, 2009
In the wake of their settlement of patent licenses disputes in November 2008, Samsung and InterDigital announced on January 15 that they have reached a royalty-bearing patent license agreement resolving long-standing patent disputes between the companies, Reuters reported.

Pursuant to the agreement, Samsung will pay InterDigital US$400 million to access the latter's 2G technology indefinitely and 3G technology - including CDMA 2000 (Code Division Multiple Access 2000), WCDMA (Wideband CDMA) and related technologies - through 2012, according to the same source.
